Exotic Pet Care
We are called All Creatures for a very good reason! At our clinic, we gladly welcome various species of exotic pets, in addition to dogs and cats. Exotic pets have unique health care needs through every life stage, and we are equipped to meet these needs. Our veterinarians offer general wellness care and perform some surgeries, with the option to refer out to a specialist if necessary. The most common exotic pets we see here at All Creatures Veterinary Clinic & Lodge are:
- Pocket pets
- Guinea pigs
Just as with dogs and cats, we recommend that your exotic pet receive a comprehensive wellness exam at least once a year so we can be sure they’re healthy. During your pet’s first visit, we’ll be sure to discuss the various issues that are essential to exotic pet care, including husbandry, diet and nutrition, temperature, exercise, and enclosure.
Common Health Issues of Exotic Pets
In addition to the standard wellness exam and counseling at your exotic pet’s visits to our clinic, we can give you information about any health issues that your pet may be prone to, including:
- Nutritional imbalances
- Ear and skin mites
- Dental problems
Whether you’re a new or experienced exotic pet owner, feel free to give us a call at with any questions you have or to schedule an appointment at our clinic.
